Jurgis Tarabilda about the exhibition:
My expression is not linked directly to reality. Instead of representing reality, I am trying to reach a maximum level of abstraction that can access complex ideas of space and time.
In painting or the exhibition space itself, the untouched space is very important to me. These undisturbed white fields are necessary structures to dissolve the boundaries between the paintings and the space in which they are installed. If I make one stroke there is suddenly a resonance in that space. I hope viewers will experience a resonance between the visible and the invisible, the made and the unmade. For me, it is a desire to find ways to feel the sense of space around me.
We cannot fully appreciate the light without the shadow, a space without an object in front of it, a blue colour of the sky without gases and particles in the air.
